Rahm to the hills
There are plenty of rumors out there saying that Rahm Emanuel is going to run for Chicago mayor after being in his position. Nobody has heard if he is running for sure yet. It still is not official. There were reports from D.C. saying otherwise. This would indicate he is running officially. The White House should be giving an official announcement quite shortly on this, says the Washington Post. A press conference could be held where addresses the issue. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs confirmed that there are personnel changes that could be discussed in a press conference at the White House soon.
It’s a Daley now
Chicago Mayor Richard Daley decided earlier this year not to seek reelection next year. He plans on retiring after the term he is in. The NY Times reported on Daley. It said that Daley wants to move on to other things in his life. His retirement is the end of a Chicago dynasty. He has a father with his exact same name of Richard Daley who was a Democratic mayor of Chicago for quite some time. Daley’s father was in his post until he passed away meaning he served from 1995 to 1976. Daley himself has been the mayor since 1989 when he was elected in. The mayor of Chicago has been in the Daley family for a long time. In fact, it has been for 44 of the last 55 years.
Rahm wishing to get the job
Rahm Emanuel has desired the placement for a when, and has made it clear. Emanuel may be just the one for the job thinking about that Democrats have ruled the city forever.
